Through 400 pm, scattered showers with embedded thunderstorms will
wax and wane while moving eastward at near 10 knots over the Outer
Gulf waters, the Florida Keys, the nearshore waters surrounding the
island chain, the Florida Straits directly south of the island
chain, and around Floyd`s Wall. This activity is capable of
producing frequent lightning strikes, wind gusts up to 30 knots, and
blinding downpours. Island communities may observe rainfall amounts
of a quarter to half of an inch.
