Through 3 PM, numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms will move generally northward at near 15 knots through the near and offshore waters surrounding the Florida Keys. The greatest concentration of showers and thunderstorms will be from the waters offshore the Marathon Humps through just offshore Molasses Reef, continuing northward over the Middle and Upper Keys, and also in the western Straits and Southeast Gulf waters southwest through northwest of Halfmoon Shoal Light, including Dry Tortugas National Park. The stronger storms will produce wind gusts near 30 knots, frequent lightning strikes, and blinding downpours. Portions of the keys, including the Marathon, Key Colony Beach, Tavernier and Key Largo could receive up to an inch and a half of additional rainfall through 3 PM. $$
