...GALE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE
THURSDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...West winds 25 to 35 knots with gusts up to 45 knots and
  waves 9 to 14 feet possible.

* WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay OH
  to Ripley NY, and the open waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay
  OH to Buffalo NY.

* WHEN...From Wednesday morning through late Thursday night.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous waves which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...With the onset of strong southwest winds on
  Wednesday, water levels on the western basin of Lake Erie could
  approach the critical mark for safe navigation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible
hazardous conditions.  Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter
course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and waves.
