This hazardous weather outlook is for the nearshore waters from
St Joseph to Manistee.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Waves will subside to below 4 feet this morning. Gale conditions
will develop tonight lasting into Friday morning. Waves will build
tonight towards 10 feet.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Conditions hazardous to smaller craft are anticipated for Friday.
Additional rough conditions are expected from Sunday through next
Wednesday.

...GALE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM EST
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory early this morning, waves
  will gradually subside to below 4 feet by 800 am. For the Gale
  Warning tonight into Friday, southwest gales to 40 knots
  developing and waves building to 6 to 10 feet.

* WHERE...St Joseph to Manistee.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 8 AM EST this
  morning. For the Gale Warning, from 10 PM this evening to 10
  AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The Small Craft Advisory conditions will
  abate this morning as waves fall below 4 feet. A respite is
  expected today with lighter winds and lower wave action as a
  ridge of high pressure moves through. Gale conditions develop
  quickly tonight after dark persisting into Friday morning.
  Southwest gales to 40 knots and waves pushing to 10 feet are
  expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.
