This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Dense fog with visibility less than 1/2 mile will spread
southeast along the North Shore today. Areas of the South Shore
may be impacted by dense fog this afternoon and evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Fog may persist Monday morning.

There is a 80 percent chance for easterly gale-force wind gusts
Tuesday evening into Wednesday night. There is also a 30 percent
chance of easterly storm-force gusts from midnight to noon
Wednesday along the North Shore.

...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Dense fog will reduce visibility to as low as one quarter mile.

* WHERE...Grand Portage to Grand Marais MN and Grand Marais to
  Taconite Harbor MN.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM CST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Low visibility will make navigation difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An expansive fog bank is moving southwest
  into western Lake Superior this morning and expected to persist
  through the day. Confidence is highest in visibility dropping
  below 1 mile in dense fog from Taconite Harbor to Grand Portage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must navigate, proceed with caution. Use proper fog
signals. Make sure all running lights are on. Remember to use
your radar and compass.
