This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight

On Lake Superior, Storm and Gale Warnings remain in effect.
Mariners should expect easterly storm-force winds gusting up to 50
knots and wave heights building 8 to 14 feet today. These
conditions will be dangerous for all vessels, and heavy snow will
severely limit navigation visibility.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Conditions will begin to slowly improve on Thursday with just
small craft advisories needed along the North Shore.

...GALE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 4 AM CST
THURSDAY...

* WHAT...For the Storm Warning, east winds 25 to 35 kt with
  gusts up to 50 kt and waves 8 to 13 ft. For the Gale Warning,
  northeast winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and waves 7
  to 12 ft expected.

* WHERE...Grand Portage to Grand Marais MN, Grand Marais to
  Taconite Harbor MN, Taconite Harbor to Silver Bay Harbor MN
  and Silver Bay Harbor to Two Harbors MN.

* WHEN...For the Storm Warning, until 6 PM CST this evening. For
  the Gale Warning, from 6 PM this evening to 4 AM CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Storm force winds and hazardous waves will capsize
  or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should remain in port, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.
