* WHAT...For the Storm Warning, north winds 20 to 30 kt with
  gusts up to 50 kt and waves 3 to 6 ft expected. For the Heavy
  Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate of 2 cm
  per hour or greater expected, and may rapidly accumulate on
  vessels.

* WHERE...Grand Portage to Grand Marais MN.

* WHEN...For the Storm Warning, from 6 PM Sunday to 9 PM CST
  Monday. For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, from 9 PM Sunday
  to 9 PM CST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
  hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
  components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
  superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
  stability. Storm force winds and hazardous waves will capsize
  or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Mariners should remain in port, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight

No hazardous weather at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Strong northwest winds will ramp up Sunday evening with
widespread gales of 35 to 45 knots expected. Along the North Shore
from Grand Marais to Grand Portage, a Storm Warning is in effect
for gusts up to 50 knots. These winds will produce large,
hazardous waves up to 12 feet in the Apostle Islands.

A Heavy Freezing Spray Warning is in effect as the arriving
Arctic air causes rapid ice accumulation on vessels Sunday night
through Monday.
