The strongest winds will be this afternoon and evening from Grand Marais to Grand Portage and in the Outer Apostle Islands where winds will be strongest and a Gale Warning is in effect. The strong winds combined with elevated waves and cold temperatures will lead to heavy freezing spray for all but the head of the lake and Oak Point to Saxon Harbor this afternoon and evening, and continuing in the Outer Apostles into tonight. A Heavy Freezing Spray Warning has been issued. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday Northwest winds with gusts of 20 to 30 knots continue into Tuesday along with elevated wave heights for ice-free areas of the South Shore, leading to hazardous conditions for small craft.
