AFTERNOON TO 4 AM CST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, northwest winds 15 to 25
  kt with gusts up to 30 kt and waves 3 to 6 ft. For the Heavy
  Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate of 2 cm
  per hour or greater expected, and may rapidly accumulate on
  vessels.

* WHERE...Duluth MN to Port Wing WI, Port Wing to Sand Island WI
  and Sand Island to Bayfield WI.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 4 PM CST Friday.
  For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, from 4 PM this afternoon
  to 4 AM CST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
  hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
  components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
  superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
  stability. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Anyone operating a smaller vessel should avoid navigating in
hazardous conditions.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Gusty northwest winds will continue to lead to hazardous
conditions for small craft today and tonight. Elevated wave
heights along the South Shore will also lead to heavy freezing
spray for the Outer Apostle Islands today, expanding to include
the Twin Ports to Apostle Islands starting late this afternoon.
Small Craft Advisories and Heavy Freezing Spray Warnings are in
effect.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Gusty northwest winds and conditions hazardous to small craft persist
into daytime Friday. Heavy freezing spray is also expected to
persist into Friday morning for the Outer Apostle Islands. Small Craft
Advisories and Heavy Freezing Spray Warnings are in effect.
