Dangerously hot and humid conditions will remain common across much of Eastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas into the evening hours. The hottest conditions were located along and west of Highway 69 in eastern Oklahoma, where heat index values of 110 to 114 have been observed. A slight chance of thunderstorms will be possible late tonight into early Saturday morning along the Oklahoma and Kansas border as a weak cold front approaches from the north. WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Dangerous Heat Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Dangerously hot and humid conditions will continue on Saturday ahead of a frontal boundary forecast to sag southward into the region Saturday afternoon. Thunderstorm chances also return Saturday afternoon mainly north of Interstate 40 with the frontal boundary moving into the region. A few storms could produce damaging downburst winds during the late afternoon and evening hours. Storm chances expand across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas Sunday as the boundary moves southward through the region.
