A few thunderstorms may affect areas of northeast Oklahoma near
the Kansas border late tonight. Organized severe weather is not
expected.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Dangerously hot and humid conditions will return Friday and
Saturday. An Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect for much of
northeast Oklahoma Friday, with a Heat Advisory for other areas.
Additional heat headlines will likely be issued for Saturday. Thunderstorm
chances will increase late Saturday into Sunday as a weak cold
front pushes south into the area.

Hot and humid conditions will quickly return early next week, with
thunderstorm chances increasing again just in time for the
Independence Day holiday.

* WHERE...In Arkansas, Crawford, Franklin, and Sebastian Counties.
  In Oklahoma, Cherokee, Sequoyah, Delaware, Ottawa, Choctaw,
  Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, Pittsburg, and Pushmataha Counties.

* WHEN...From noon to 9 PM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses are possible especially impacting
  those not acclimated to the conditions or those performing
  strenuous activities.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
