The messaging remains the same... If you plan to be, or have to be outside for extended periods today, stay well hydrated, take breaks in the shade or inside, and know the signs of heat-related illnesses. In addition to heat and humidity, some isolated to widely scattered storms will be possible across portions of Arkansas this afternoon. Additional rounds of showers and storms are expected over northern Arkansas this evening and tonight. The main hazards with storms will include hail and strong to damaging wind gusts. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Cooler/drier air will spread across Arkansas from the north behind a cold front on Friday. Chances of showers and thunderstorms will continue across the central and southern counties before exiting toward the Gulf Coast after dark. Seasonal temperatures are in the forecast this weekend. Precipitation will be isolated, mainly south and west of Little Rock. Another cold front will push into the state from the Plains early next week. The front is expected to stall across the area, and will trigger scattered thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will remain close to average. Any severe weather in the coming days will be spotty, with strong to damaging wind gusts the main concern.
