This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Hot and humid conditions will remain in place with high
temperatures this afternoon topping out near 100 degrees for many
areas. Heat index values are expected to exceed 105 degrees. Low
temperatures will only drop into the mid to upper 70s by Tuesday
morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Conditions will remain hot and humid on Tuesday with dangerous
heat index values once again. Temperatures will be slightly
cooler on Wednesday and Thursday with some rain possible on
Wednesday. While a few stronger storms can not be ruled out,
widespread severe weather is not expected. Very hot and humid
conditions return for Friday.

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 112
  expected.

* WHERE...Conway, Faulkner, Garland, Grant, Perry, Pulaski, Saline,
  Southern Pope County, Hot Spring, and Southern Johnson County
  Counties.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
