...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the entire Four State Region
today.  High humidity, combined with afternoon temperatures ranging
from the mid 90s to near 100 degrees, will result in heat index
values between 105 to 109 degrees. In addition to the heat, can`t
rule out some isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly across
portions of Northern Louisiana and Southwest Arkansas. These storms
could produce some brief strong wind gusts.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Widespread rain chances are possible on Wednesday, which could bring
some cooler temperatures to the region. Additional slight rain
chances may continue across portions of the region through early next
week. Despite the rain chances, heat products could return as heat
index values are expected return to over 105 degrees through the end
of the work week into early next week.

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 109.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Arkansas, north
  central and northwest Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, and east and
  northeast Texas.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
