...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM MST FRIDAY FOR STRONG
AND GUSTY SOUTHWEST TO WEST WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND A
VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 152...

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM MST Friday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.


* TIMING...11 AM MST Friday morning until 8 PM MST Friday
  evening.

* WINDS...Sustained 20-foot/10-minute average winds from the
  west/southwest 18 to 25 MPH with gusts up to 35-40 MPH.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...5 to 9 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop or are ongoing will have the
  potential to spread rapidly.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or are expected to develop. A
combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and dry
vegetation will create the potential for rapid and erratic fire
growth.

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of the Red Flag Warning for portions of Southeast Arizona.

SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...For the Excessive Heat Warning and Excessive Heat Watch,
  dangerously hot conditions with temperatures 105 to 110.

* WHERE...Upper Gila River Valley.

* WHEN...For the Excessive Heat Warning, until 8 PM MST this
  evening. For the Excessive Heat Watch, from Saturday morning
  through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible
and drink plenty of water.
