This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Colorado, southwest
Colorado, west central Colorado, east central Utah, northeast Utah
and southeast Utah.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Deep subtropical moisture will fuel widespread showers and
thunderstorms today. Stronger storms will be capable of producing
heavy rain, gusty winds, and hail. Localized severe storms are
possible. Flash flooding is possible today and a Flood Watch remains
in effect from noon to midnight MDT. Showers and storms continue
tonight, particularly along the Continental Divide.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Storm coverage decreases on Friday but scattered to numerous showers
and thunderstorms are expected over the higher terrain. Even so,
storms will be capable of producing heavy rain with localized flash
flooding remaining possible. Saturday will be the driest day as weak
high pressure builds overhead. The next push of subtropical moisture
looks to arrive on Sunday and will continue to impact the region
through at least early next week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected today or tonight, however
spotters are encouraged to relay rainfall amounts or any observed
flooding to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON MDT TODAY THROUGH THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Colorado, including the following areas,
Animas River Basin, Central Colorado River Basin, Central Gunnison
and Uncompahgre River Basin, Central Yampa River Basin, Debeque to
Silt Corridor, Elkhead and Park Mountains, Flat Tops, Four
Corners/Upper Dolores River, Gore and Elk Mountains/Central
Mountain Valleys, Grand Valley, Grand and Battlement Mesas, Lower
Yampa River Basin, Northwest San Juan Mountains, Paradox
Valley/Lower Dolores River, Roan and Tavaputs Plateaus, San Juan
River Basin, Southwest San Juan Mountains, Uncompahgre Plateau and
Dallas Divide, Upper Gunnison River Valley, Upper Yampa River
Basin and West Elk and Sawatch Mountains and Utah, including the
following areas, Arches/Grand Flat, Canyonlands/Natural Bridges,
La Sal and Abajo Mountains, Southeast Utah and Tavaputs Plateau.

* WHEN...From noon MDT today through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
  crossings may become flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - A strong surge of subtropical moisture combined with a weak
upper level disturbance raises the potential for excessive
rainfall across the region. Though storms will not be slow
moving, training echoes and rainfall rates in excess of 2
inches per hour are possible. Slick rock areas, slot canyons
and burn scars are at greatest risk, but urban flooding is
    also a concern.
