THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall remains
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of Colorado, including the following areas,
Debeque to Silt Corridor, Four Corners/Upper Dolores River, Grand
Valley, Paradox Valley/Lower Dolores River, Roan and Tavaputs
Plateaus and Uncompahgre Plateau and Dallas Divide and Utah,
including the following areas, Arches/Grand Flat,
Canyonlands/Natural Bridges, La Sal and Abajo Mountains, Southeast
Utah and Tavaputs Plateau.
* WHEN...From 8 AM MDT this morning through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
crossings may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Unusually high levels of moisture originating with Tropical
Storm Alberto combined with the potential for training
thunderstorms brings the potential for excessive rainfall and
localized flash flooding.

Deep subtropical moisture originating from TS Alberto will linger over the region today. An upper level disturbance working with this ample moisture threatens to bring heavy rain to southeast Utah and southwest and west-central Colorado beginning this morning and continuing through the evening. Localized flooding is possible and a Flash Watch remains in effect for those areas mentioned previously. In addition, there is a marginal chance for severe thunderstorms across the entire forecast area with the Four Corners region favored. The main threat is large hail with a lesser potential for localized tornadic activity. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Thunderstorms become more scattered in coverage with a significantly reduced threat for heavy rain or severe storms. Afternoon/evening thunderstorms, more isolated in coverage, can be expected Sunday through Tuesday. Storm coverage increases again for the latter part of the coming week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not expected today or tonight, however spotters are encouraged to relay rainfall amounts or any observed flooding to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction. $$
