Most of the storms will produce brief rain and gusty winds. The strongest storms could produce hail up to an inch in diameter, wind gusts to 60 mph and brief heavy rainfall with the highest threat of this south of Castle Rock and Limon between 4 PM and 8 PM. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday Above normal temperatures are likely Wednesday and Thursday followed by isolated chances of a shower or storm mainly for the foothills and mountains. Expect afternoon high temperatures of 90 to 98 degrees mainly across the urban corridor and plains. Slightly cooler temperatures and scattered storms are possible by Friday. There is also the potential for strong to severe storms with hail and heavy rain across the Northeastern Plains and Palmer Divide on Friday, especially for areas east of the Front Range Urban Corridor. WHERE...Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, western Arapahoe, western Adams, Broomfield, Boulder, Larimer, and Weld Counties WHEN...400 PM Monday June 10 to 400 PM Tuesday June 11 IMPACTS...Ozone Action Day Alert is now in effect for the Front Range Urban Corridor. Request to limit driving gas and diesel- powered vehicles is now in effect until at least 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Although ozone concentrations will remain in the Good to Moderate range on Monday, increasingly warm and sunny conditions with building pollution levels will result in ozone concentrations possibly reaching the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups category Tuesday afternoon and evening, particularly from the western suburbs of Denver northward to Boulder.For areas included in this advisory that are not expected to reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) air quality designation, we request that activities, such as driving non-ZEV vehicles (i.e., gas or diesel), be reduced to lessen the impacts on neighboring air quality.
