In addition, rock slides will be possible in the canyons this afternoon and evening. These same storms will also be capable of localized wind gusts to 50 to 60 mph, and hail up to the size of quarters. A few of these storms will move off the mountains into the adjacent valleys and I-25 corridor later today and will be capable of strong winds to 50 to 60 mph and hail the size of quarter, The greatest risk for this east of the mountains will be across El Paso County. Periodic showers with embedded thunderstorms will continue into the overnight hours across the eastern San Juans where heavy rainfall could lead to localized flash flooding. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Daily chances of showers and thunderstorms can be expected across south central and southeast Colorado through the weekend, with the best coverage of storms along and west of the Continental Divide on Friday. Increased available moisture on Friday will also support the potential for a few stronger storms producing gusty outflow winds up to 55 mph and hail to near the size of pennies. There will also be the potential for locally heavy rainfall on Friday, leading to possible flash flooding, especially over area burn scars and across the southwest mountains where heavy rainfall the day before may lead to saturated soil conditions and less capacity for heavy rainfall. Much warmer and drier conditions return for early next week, with temperatures warming back to well above seasonal levels in the mid 90s to around 105 degrees across the plains, and mainly in the 70s and 80s across the higher terrain. There will be enough moisture to support a few high based storms producing more wind than rain across the higher terrain early next week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
