The showers and storms will spread north-northeast across the Front Range through the late afternoon and evening hours. Most of the showers and storms are expected over Front Range Foothills and Urban Corridor with only a few possibly making it to the nearby eastern plains. Isolated showers and storms are also expected over the mountains. The threat of severe storms is lower than yesterday, but there is potential for a few strong to severe storms. Severe wind and hail around/just above 1 inch will be possible in the stronger storms. Heavy rain will be more common today with the storms. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday There will be a drying and warming trend this week. There will still be a threat of storms that are severe or have heavy rain on Monday, then the storm activity will be less Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday will be hot with few or no thunderstorms. Increased storms are expected again starting Friday. The main concern will be heat, with Thursday most likely being the hottest day. Cherry Creek in Parker is near the moderate flood stage of 10 feet. Low lying and flood prone areas are covered at this level, and water may be getting into yards along the creek. Downstream, the water is rising near E470 and the surge has not yet entered Arapahoe county. Locations downstream of Parker can expect a rise of 2 to 3 feet in the water level over the next hour or two. Level should begin to subside in areas upstream from Parker. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Southwestern Aurora, southern Centennial, northeastern Castle Rock, Parker, The Pinery and Foxfield. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
