This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Colorado, southwest
Colorado, west central Colorado, east central Utah, northeast Utah
and southeast Utah.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

High temperatures today will be around 10 degrees above normal, with
portions of southeast Utah and southwest Colorado seeing triple digit
heat.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

The unusual heat lingers into Friday, with the desert valleys seeing
the hottest day of the year thus far. Increasing moisture will lead
to more clouds and showers over the higher terrain, with coverage
expanding each afternoon through early next week. Main threats with
these storms remain gusty outflow winds and lightning.

...The Flood Advisory continues for the following rivers in
Colorado...

  East River at Almont affecting Gunnison County.

.Warm temperatures will accelerate snowmelt across the Elk Mountains
through the weekend. Expect increasing flows on many creeks and
streams across the East and Taylor Basins. Diurnal forecast peaks
are expected to exceed Action Stage, specifically on the East River
at Almont, each morning through the weekend.

For the East River...including Almont...elevated river levels are
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an
alternative route.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

If you are in the advisory area, remain alert to possible flooding
or the possibility of the advisory being upgraded to a warning.

...FLOOD ADVISORY FOR SNOWMELT REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE MONDAY

* WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt continues.

* WHERE...East River at Almont.

* WHEN...Until late Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...

At 7.0 feet: Lowland and meadow flooding near the confluence of the
East and Taylor Rivers can be expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1:15 PM MDT Thursday the stage was 5.9 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 6.3 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will oscillate above action stage
    through the weekend. The river may also reach flood stage, a
    value of 7.0 feet, early Saturday morning.
  - Action stage is 6.5 feet.
  - Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
