...REPLACES FLOOD ADVISORY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southwest Florida, including the following
county, Collier.
* WHEN...Until 200 AM EDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or
standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from
these storms to work through local drainage systems.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 710 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned
area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Everglades City, Chokoloskee, Carnestown, Copeland,
Plantation Island, Big Cypress National Preserve, Everglades
National Park and Jerome.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

- At 650 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 3 and 8 inches of rain
have fallen so far today.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 3 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Naples, Marco Island, Everglades City, Chokoloskee, Golden
Gate Estates, Copeland, Carnestown, Plantation Island, Royal
Palm Hammock, Big Cypress National Preserve, Marco Island

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Atlantic coastal waters, southeast Florida, southern Florida, southwest Florida and Gulf of Mexico. .DAY ONE...Tonight. Excessive Rainfall: With multiple rounds of heavy rainfall possible, the potential for flash flooding will develop especially across the urban and poor drainage areas. The antecedent rainfall will be particularly problematic for urban and recently soaked regions. Thunderstorms: Numerous thunderstorms are expected over South Florida today. Some of the thunderstorms could contain gusty winds and heavy downpours. Tornadoes: A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out through the overnight period into early morning Wednesday. Marine: Waterspouts are possible across all local waters today. possible.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast, southern, and southwest Florida,
including the following areas, in southeast Florida, Coastal
Broward County, Coastal Miami Dade County, Coastal Palm Beach
County, Far South Miami-Dade County, Inland Broward County, Inland
Miami-Dade County, Inland Palm Beach County, Metro Broward County,
Metro Palm Beach County and Metropolitan Miami Dade. In southern
Florida, Glades and Hendry. In southwest Florida, Coastal Collier
County, Inland Collier County and Mainland Monroe.
* WHEN...Through Wednesday evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Enhanced tropical moisture will continue to pool across South
Florida this week. This will result in periods of heavy rain.
High rainfall rates and slow moving storms will result in
flooding concerns, especially in urban and poor drainage
locations. Additional rainfall totals through Wednesday
evening are forecast to be 4-6 inches across Southwest
Florida and interior South Florida, and 2-4 inches over the
East Coast metro, with locally higher amounts possible. When
combined with previous rainfall, this will result in storm
totals through Wednesday evening of 5-9 inches across
interior South Florida and southwest Florida, and 3-5 inches
across the East Coast metro. Additional heavy rain is
possible later in the week.
