.NOW...
Through 1130 pm, showers and thunderstorms will generally grow in
terms of coverage and intensity across portions of the Lower and
Middle Keys, as well as the adjacent coastal waters, including Bayside
and Gulfside, Hawk Channel, and the Straits of Florida out to 20 nm.
Movement of this activity will be nearly stationary, but will
generally drift to the northwest to north at near 5 knots. Mariners
encountering any stronger embedded cells can expect blinding
downpours, wind gusts to near 20 knots, and a few cloud to surface
lightning strikes. A few island communities between Big Pine Key and
Duck Key can expect up to a quick quarter of an inch of rainfall.
