Scattered thunderstorms are expected today in portions of east and central Georgia, which could produce frequent lightning and locally heavy rain. Heat index values will range from 95 to 100 across much of the area this afternoon. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday... Scattered thunderstorms will be possible over much of the area through Friday, with the greatest chances on Wednesday and Thursday. Some storms could be strong and capable of producing heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds.
