Areas of river flooding will continue across north and central
Georgia.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday...

River flooding will continue through the upcoming week, with
impacts becoming increasingly focused along main stem rivers in
central Georgia like the Flint, Ocmulgee and Oconee.

...The National Weather Service in Peachtree City GA has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Georgia...

  Ocmulgee River at GA 18 at Dames Ferry affecting Jones and Monroe
  Counties.

For the Ocmulgee River Basin...including Jackson, Griffin, Juliette,
Juliette, Dames Ferry, Macon, Macon, Hawkinsville, Hawkinsville,
Byron, Clinchfield, Abbeville, McRae, Scotland, Lumber City...
Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring.

* WHERE...Ocmulgee River at GA 18 at Dames Ferry.

* WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, minor flooding of woodlands in the natural
  flood plain begins along the river.  Low lying areas and portions
  of river access roads...upstream and downstream from the gage on
  Dames Ferry Road or Georgia Highway 18 will begin to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 2:00 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 16.2 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 2:00 PM EDT Saturday was 16.2 feet.
  - Forecast...No forecast is available for this location.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    16.2 feet on 02/07/2020.

  Ocmulgee River near Macon affecting Houston, Twiggs, Bibb, Jones
  and Monroe Counties.

For the Ocmulgee River Basin...including Jackson, Griffin, Juliette,

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...Ocmulgee River near Macon.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Moderate flooding begins on the Macon
  GreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail north of the Martin Luther King
  Boulevard bridge with some areas under 6 feet of water. Backyards
  of a few homes on the left bank near Glenridge Drive will be
  flooded. Portions of the Southern Railroad tracks around Mead Road
  will become inundated. Large portions of agricultural lands just
  east and south of Macon will be under 1 to 8 feet of water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:30 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 23.7 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:30 AM EDT Saturday was 23.7 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 27.2
    feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage
    early Wednesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    26.7 feet on 11/27/1992.
