Severe weather is not expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected on Friday. There is a risk of locally heavy rain along with strong winds and hail, primarily during the afternoon and evening hours, and the possibility of a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out. There are additional chances for thunderstorms between Monday and Wednesday of next week. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...The East Fork Des Moines River near Algona, or from
Buffalo Creek near Burt to Lotts Creek near Livermore.
* WHEN...Until early Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Water threatens US 169 near Saint Joseph
and may affect it south of Algona.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 18.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Saturday afternoon and continue falling and remain
below flood stage.
- Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
