Thunderstorms are likely from this afternoon into tonight, especially south of Highway 20. There is a risk of severe weather during this time, with damaging winds and large hail the primary threats. Locally heavy rainfall and a few tornadoes may also be possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday Thunderstorm chances return to the forecast at times from late Thursday through Friday. Heavy rain will be possible during this time. The potential for any severe thunderstorm hazards will be better assessed in the coming days. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... * WHERE...The Winnebago River at Mason City, or from Beaver Creek
near Fertile to the Shell Rock River near Rockford.
* WHEN...Until early Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Sandbagging occurs on the dike from 12th
St NE to Carolina St.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 10.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.6
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage early tomorrow afternoon.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
