This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, northeast Nebraska and southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Another round of showers and storms may spread in from central South
Dakota and Nebraska tonight. Severe weather is not expected at this
time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Another round of showers and storms may track through the region
Friday night with isolated strong to severe storms possible. All
hazards are possible with storms Friday night, including flash
flooding.

By Saturday, a widespread 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected with
isolated amounts of 3 or more inches. Multiple periods of locally
heavy rainfall means ponding of water and rises in area streams and
creeks are expected.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...A portion of northwest Iowa, including the following
  counties, Buena Vista, Cherokee and Plymouth.

* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and
  rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and
  could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Widespread heavy rainfall continues. Area waterways continue
    to rise.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS MORNING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Big Sioux River at Akron.

* WHEN...From this morning until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Highway 48 begins to flood where the
  railroad tracks cross, and Iowa Highway 3 begins to flood on the
  east side of the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 15.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this morning and continue rising to a crest of 22.0 feet
    early Monday morning. This river forecast will be heavily
    impacted by how much rain ultimately falls.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

* WHEN...From this evening to early Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Flooding begins to affect the lower lying
  agricultural lands along the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 8.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this evening to a crest of 13.5 feet tomorrow morning. It
    will then fall below flood stage early Sunday afternoon. This
    river forecast will be heavily impacted by how much rain
    ultimately falls.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
