This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northwest Iowa,
west central Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska,
central South Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central
South Dakota, and southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Many area streams, creeks and rivers are in moderate to major
flood stage leading to continued road closures. These impacts will
slowly recede over the next couple of days.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Ongoing flooding concerns continue.

Hot and humid conditions on Monday will lead to heat index values
near to above 100 degrees. Areas south of I-90 may see heat index
values as high as 105 to 110 degrees.

Showers and storms are possible Monday afternoon and evening and
again Tuesday. If storms can develop, strong to severe storms with
locally heavy rainfall are possible. More unsettled weather returns
later this week.

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 110 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, southwest
  Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and central, east central, south
  central, and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN...From 1 PM to 8 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, including the following
  counties, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, O`Brien,
  Osceola, Plymouth and Sioux, southwest Minnesota, including the
  following counties, Jackson and Nobles, and southeast South
  Dakota, including the following county, Union.

* WHEN...Until 1245 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is ongoing. Numerous roads remain closed
  due to flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 814 AM CDT, Emergency management reported flooding from
    earlier heavy rain. Between 4 and 9 inches of rain had
    fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Spencer In Clay County, Sioux Center, Orange City, Spirit
    Lake, Windom, Jackson In Jackson County, Hawarden, Milford,
    Mountain Lake, Lakefield, Hartley, Sanborn, Alton, Arnolds
    Park, Lake Park, Paullina, Bergen, Primghar, Okoboji and
    Heron Lake.
