This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight

Hot temperatures continue this afternoon, with heat index values
near 100F this afternoon.

Thunderstorm chances return this evening through tonight. There
is a risk of severe thunderstorms during this time, with damaging
winds the primary threat. Greatest chances will be over far
northeastern Iowa.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Tuesday will be warm and humid once again, with heat index values
in the mid to upper 90s during the afternoon and evening.

Additional thunderstorm chances are forecast Tuesday afternoon and
evening. There will again be a risk of severe thunderstorms
during this time, with all severe weather hazards possible.

Thunderstorm chances return to the forecast at times from Thursday
through Saturday. Any severe weather threats during this time will
be better assessed in the coming days.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed this evening into tonight and on
Tuesday.

  Cedar River at Janesville affecting Bremer, Butler and Black Hawk
  Counties.

  Cedar River at Cedar Falls affecting Black Hawk County.

  Winnebago River at Mason City affecting Cerro Gordo, Worth and
  Floyd Counties.

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Iowa...

  Cedar River at Waterloo affecting Black Hawk County.

  Shell Rock River at Shell Rock affecting Bremer, Butler and Black
  Hawk Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For the latest river and stream observations and forecasts refer to

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, Part of S Lake St is closed.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:45 PM CDT Monday the stage was 12.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    early Wednesday afternoon and continue falling and remain
    below flood stage.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The Cedar River at Janesville, or from Quarter Section Run
  to the West Fork Cedar River.

* WHEN...From late tonight to early Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Water threatens areas of Janesville south
  of 8th St.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:45 PM CDT Monday the stage was 11.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    just after midnight tonight to a crest of 14.2 feet early
    tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early
    Wednesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
