This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

Hot and humid conditions return today, mainly for southeast Iowa,
northeast Missouri, and west-central Illinois. Heat index
readings will increase to between 95 to around 100 degrees this
afternoon and early evening.

Chances of thunderstorms will increase late tonight and continue
into the day Tuesday. Some storms could be strong to severe, with
wind gusts to 60 MPH and possibly 70 MPH, especially in northwest
Illinois, short-lived tornadoes, and heavy rainfall.  Flash flooding
is possible as well.

Several area rivers will be experiencing flooding this week. Please

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

Hot and humid conditions continue Tuesday, with heat index
readings approaching 100 degrees for areas along and south of
Highway 30.

Chances of storms will continue through the day Tuesday, some of
which could become strong to severe. There is a Slight Risk, or
level 2 of 5, for severe storms across the entire outlook area,
with damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall that could
lead to flash flooding being the main threats.

Several area rivers will be experiencing flooding this week.

Spotter activation is possible late tonight and Tuesday.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Towards the southeast around 30 to 40 mph with the storms late

  Mississippi River at Rock Island LD15 affecting Scott, Muscatine
  and Rock Island Counties.

  Mississippi River at Camanche affecting Scott, Whiteside, Rock
  Island and Clinton Counties.

* IMPACTS...At 20.5 feet, Water affects the Illinois Central
  railroad tracks in Dubuque.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 16.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    tomorrow morning and continue rising to 20.8 feet Monday,
    July 01. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
