This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the entire outlook area
through 8 pm this evening. Heat indices of 95 to around 100 are
expected.

Tonight, a line of scattered thunderstorms will push into the
northwest half of the outlook area mainly after midnight and into
early Wednesday morning. While severe storms are not expected,
gusty winds and heavy rainfall are possible with any stronger
storm.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY

Wednesday, the Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal Risk (Level
1 of 5) of severe weather for much of eastern Iowa and northwest
Illinois. Isolated strong gusty winds and lightning are the main
threats. Locally heavy rainfall and ponding water also are
possible.

Periodic rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible through
the weekend. It is too early to determine the severe potential or
rain amounts. In between the storms, hot and humid conditions will
occur.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated tonight. There is a chance
that spotter activation may be needed Wednesday afternoon and
evening.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY: East to northeast at 30 MPH.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Peak heat indices between 95 to around 100 degrees.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, northwest, and west central
  Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and
  northeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and humid conditions may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
