Area rivers are experiencing flooding. Please see the latest
Flood Statements and Flood Warnings for details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

Thunderstorms are possible Friday and Friday night. Some storms
could be strong to severe. There is a Slight Risk, or level 2 of
5, for severe storms across the western two thirds of the outlook
area for damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes. Heavy rainfall is
also possible Friday into Saturday which could lead to some
flooding issues.

Thunderstorms are possible again Monday into Tuesday. However, it
is too early to determine the severe threat.

...The National Weather Service in Quad Cities IA IL has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Iowa...

  Cedar River near Conesville affecting Muscatine and Louisa
  Counties.

  Cedar River at Cedar Bluff affecting Johnson, Cedar and Muscatine
  Counties.

  Iowa River at Wapello affecting Louisa County.

  Iowa River at Oakville affecting Louisa County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

The next statement will be issued Thursday morning at 1000 AM CDT.

MORNING...
...REPLACES RIVER FLOOD WATCH...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Cedar River at Cedar Bluff.

* WHEN...From Friday afternoon to early Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Water begins to affect access to the
  Sutliff Recreation Bridge. The lowest sections of West Rochester
  Ave north of West Rochester Road are also affected by water,
  limiting access to residents in the Rainbow Valley Subdivision.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 10.9 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The river continues to rise.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early Friday afternoon to a crest of 17.9 feet early Saturday
    afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late Sunday
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
