This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

Chances of thunderstorms will increase late tonight and continue
into the day on Tuesday. Some storms could be severe. Damaging
winds up to 70 mph is the primary threat. Short-lived tornadoes
are a secondary threat. Torrential rainfall could lead to
localized flash flooding, especially in urban or poorly drained
areas. A Slight Risk for severe storms, or level 2 of 5, covers
much of the Outlook area north of a line from Sigourney, Iowa to
Burlington, Iowa to Roseville, Illinois. An Enhanced Risk for
severe storms, or level 3 of 5, covers portions of northern
Jo Daviess and Stephenson counties in Illinois.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

Hot and humid conditions continue Tuesday, with heat index
readings approaching 100 degrees for areas along and south of
Highway 30.

Chances of storms will continue through the day Tuesday, some of
which could become strong to severe. There is a Slight Risk, or
level 2 of 5, for severe storms across the entire outlook area,
with damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall that could
lead to flash flooding being the main threats.

Several area rivers will be experiencing flooding this week.

Spotter activation is possible late tonight and Tuesday.

Towards the southeast around 30 to 40 mph with the storms late

  Cedar River near Conesville affecting Louisa and Muscatine
  Counties.

  Cedar River at Cedar Bluff affecting Cedar, Johnson and Muscatine
  Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Residents and those with interests near the river should monitor
rising water levels and be prepared for possible flood warnings.
