Some storms could be severe. Damaging winds up to 70 mph is the primary threat. Short-lived tornadoes are a secondary threat. Torrential rainfall could lead to localized flash flooding, especially in urban or poorly drained areas. A Slight Risk for severe storms, or level 2 of 5, covers much of the Outlook area north of a line from Sigourney, Iowa to Burlington, Iowa to Roseville, Illinois. An Enhanced Risk for severe storms, or level 3 of 5, covers portions of northern Jo Daviess and Stephenson counties in Illinois. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY Hot and humid conditions continue Tuesday, with heat index readings approaching 100 degrees for areas along and south of Highway 30. Chances of storms will continue through the day Tuesday, some of which could become strong to severe. There is a Slight Risk, or level 2 of 5, for severe storms across the entire outlook area, with damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding being the main threats.
