This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Hot and humid conditions return today, mainly for southeast Iowa,
northeast Missouri, and west-central Illinois. Heat index
readings will increase to between 95 to around 100 degrees this
afternoon and early evening.

Chances of thunderstorms will increase late tonight and continue
into the day Tuesday, mainly over northwest Illinois. Some storms
could be strong to severe, with locally strong winds and large
hail as the main threats.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

Hot and humid conditions continue Tuesday, with heat index
readings approaching 100 degrees for areas along and south of
Highway 30.

Chances of storms will continue through the day Tuesday, some of
which could become strong to severe. There is a Slight Risk, or
level 2 of 5, for severe storms across the entire outlook area,
with damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall that could
lead to flash flooding being the main threats.

Several area rivers will be experiencing flooding this week.

Spotter activation is possible late tonight and Tuesday.

...Heat Indices Between 95 to Near 100 This Afternoon and Early
Evening...

Heat and humidity will build today, especially for areas in
southeastern Iowa into far northeastern Missouri into west-central
Illinois. Heat index readings will rise to between 95 to near 100
degrees this afternoon and early evening.

If you plan to spend time outdoors this afternoon and evening, be
sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and take
frequent breaks in shaded areas or in an air conditioned building.
Also, be sure to look before you lock! Don`t leave your pets or
kids in parked vehicles.
