The Storm Prediction Center has a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe storms along and south of Highway 30. Some of these storms may produce damaging winds and hail, along with torrential rainfall. A Flash Flood Watch is also in effect for much of the area south of Highway 30 through tonight. In addition, hot and humid conditions will continue through early this evening with heat indicies of around 100. Area rivers are experiencing flooding. Please see the latest Flood Statements and Flood Warnings for details. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY Thunderstorms are possible Friday through Saturday and again on Monday. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas,
Bureau, Hancock, Henderson, Henry IL, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam,
Rock Island and Warren, Iowa, including the following areas,
Cedar, Des Moines, Henry IA, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk,
Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington, and
northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and
Scotland.
* WHEN...Through 7 AM CDT Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
crossings may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Numerous thunderstorms producing very heavy rainfall are
expected to develop ahead of a slow moving cold front.
Several inches of rain in a short time is possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
