...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central Indiana, including the following
  counties, Clark and Floyd and central Kentucky, including the
  following county, Jefferson.

* WHEN...Until 830 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is
  occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 525 PM EDT, the public reported heavy rain in the advisory
    area due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small
    stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.3 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Louisville, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Jeffersontown, St.
    Matthews, Shively, Lyndon, Middletown, Douglass Hills and
    Prospect.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern Indiana
and central Kentucky.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Scattered storms will move through the region this afternoon and
evening. Some storms may be strong and cause gusty to damaging winds
and heavy rain.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Next chance for thunderstorms arrives Saturday into early Sunday
ahead of a cold front. A few strong storms are possible with locally
heavy rains being the main threat. Hot and humid conditions will also
be possible Saturday before showers and storms move through the
region.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon and again Saturday
afternoon and evening.
