Scattered showers and storms likely today, some of which could be strong to severe. Damaging wind gusts and torrential rainfall would be the most likely threats in the strongest storms. The heat index this afternoon may also approach 100 degrees in areas that do not see rainfall. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Heat indices Tuesday afternoon could exceed 100 degrees, especially west of the I-65 corridor. Scattered storms are expected Wednesday, with some strong storms possible. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotters are encouraged to pass along reports of severe weather. GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY: Storms will move east-southeast around 20 to 25 mph. Any users of this storm motion must be aware that thunderstorm activity can be erratic and constantly evolving.
