...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Arkansas,
southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest Louisiana,
southeast Oklahoma, east Texas and northeast Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Internet for more information about the following hazards.

   Excessive Heat Warning.

An Excessive Heat Warning is now in effect tonight and through
this evening as heat index values will reach 110 degrees or higher
today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Dangerously hot conditions are expected once again for portions of
the area on Friday with heat products likely. A change in the weather
pattern will bring more unsettled conditions to the region starting
on Friday and continuing into next week along with some relief from
the extreme heat.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110
  or greater.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Arkansas, north
  central and northwest Louisiana, and east and northeast Texas.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
