This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Allegheny Front
counties in western Maryland, eastern West Virginia, and Highland
County Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A Heat Advisory is in effect for eastern Grant and eastern
Mineral counties in West Virginia, and eastern Allegheny county in
Maryland until 8 PM this evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

A prolonged period of hot temperatures is expected this week,
with increasing humidity through the week. The combination of heat
and humidity could result in heat indices above 100 degrees
Friday afternoon through at least Sunday afternoon, mainly across
the lower elevations.

* WHAT...Heat index values around 100.

* WHERE...In Maryland, Washington and Central and Eastern Allegany
  Counties. In West Virginia, Eastern Mineral, Berkeley, Jefferson,
  and Morgan Counties.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
