southwest Maine, western Maine, New Hampshire, central New
Hampshire, northern New Hampshire and southern New Hampshire.

   Excessive Heat Warning.

A strong cold front will cross this afternoon and evening, resulting
in the development of strong to severe thunderstorms. The greatest
risk is for damaging winds and briefly torrential rainfall but hail
is also possible within the strongest storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105
  expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central, southwest, and western Maine
  and central, northern, and southern New Hampshire.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 7 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
