southwest Maine, western Maine, New Hampshire, central New
Hampshire, northern New Hampshire and southern New Hampshire.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN OXFORD...
SOUTHWESTERN ANDROSCOGGIN AND CENTRAL CUMBERLAND COUNTIES THROUGH 530
PM EDT...

At 505 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Naples, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lewiston, Auburn, Bridgton, Mechanic Falls, Naples, Turner,
Cumberland, Gorham, Falmouth, Freeport, Gray, Hiram, Raymond,
Yarmouth, Standish, Lisbon, Greene, Durham, Casco, and Limington.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 295 between mile markers 18 and 23.
 Interstate 95 between mile markers 58 and 82.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
western and southwestern Maine.

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105
  expected.

* WHERE...Southern Oxford County.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 7 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
