Heavy rainfall is expected across parts of northern Michigan today and tonight...with two or more inches of rain possible by Sunday morning. Please see the latest flood watch for additional details. A few storms south of M-72 could be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes into this evening. Any tornadoes that develop are likely to be rain-wrapped and nearly impossible to see. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan, including the
following counties, Alcona, Alpena, Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix,
Cheboygan, Crawford, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau,
Montmorency, Oscoda, Otsego and Presque Isle.
* WHEN...Through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are
running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Repeated round of heavy rainfall are expected today and
tonight. Widespread 2 to 4 inch rain amounts are likely with
isolated higher amounts possible.
