This hazardous weather outlook is for southeast Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected after midnight. The
strongest storms will be capable of producing penny size hail and
wind gusts to 50 MPH as they move to the northeast at 40 MPH.
Torrential rainfall is also possible with the strongest storms,
which could cause minor urban/low lying flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

An excessive heat watch is in effect for Monday afternoon through
Friday evening. Please refer to the latest urgent weather message for
details.

Opportunities exist for periods of thunderstorms next week while
confidence on coverage and timing remain very low.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
FRIDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions for several days are expected.
  Peak afternoon heat indices around 100 degrees are likely each
  day from Monday through Friday.

* WHERE...Southeast Michigan.

* WHEN...From Monday afternoon through Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The effects of heat on the human body get
  worse as the number of consecutive days of heat increase.
  Nighttime lows will only drop into the 70s this week, which will
  offer just modest relief from the heat. In addition, highs in
  the lower 90s may persist into the weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this
situation. Be prepared to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-
conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives
and neighbors.

...AIR QUALITY ADVISORY FOR MONDAY JUNE 17...

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air
Quality Advisory for Monday June 17, for elevated levels of
ozone. Pollutants are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive
Groups range.

The alert is in effect for the following Michigan Counties,

Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb, Oakland, Livingston, St. Clair, and
Monroe.

It is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdoor
activities, especially those with respiratory diseases such as
asthma.

People and businesses are urged to avoid activities which lead to
ozone formation. These activities include, refueling vehicles or
topping off when refueling, using gasoline powered lawn equipment,
and using charcoal lighter fluid.

Positive activities include, driving less, telecommuting, walking or
biking, delaying or combining errands and using water-based paints.
