This hazardous weather outlook is for southeast Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Excessive heat warnings and heat advisories are in effect. Please
refer to the latest urgent weather message for details.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible today, at any time. The
strongest storms will be capable of producing hail to a half inch and
wind gusts up to 60 MPH. Storms will be to the east at 30 MPH. Any
storm will be capable of producing torrential rainfall. Localized
flooding is possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Heat advisories and warnings will remain in effect through Friday.

Opportunities exist for periods of thunderstorms Tuesday into the
weekend. Confidence on coverage and timing remain very low.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM EDT
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 101
  expected.

* WHERE...Genesee, Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties.

* WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat stress increases with the number of
  consecutive hot days. Hot conditions are forecast for the next
  five days. The effects of heat are most impactful for more
  vulnerable urban populations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

...AIR QUALITY ADVISORY FOR MONDAY JUNE 17...

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air
Quality Advisory for Monday June 17, for elevated levels of
ozone. Pollutants are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive
Groups range.

The alert is in effect for the following Michigan Counties,

Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb, Oakland, Livingston, St. Clair, and
Monroe.

It is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdoor
activities, especially those with respiratory diseases such as
asthma.

People and businesses are urged to avoid activities which lead to
ozone formation. These activities include, refueling vehicles or
topping off when refueling, using gasoline powered lawn equipment,
and using charcoal lighter fluid.

Positive activities include, driving less, telecommuting, walking or
biking, delaying or combining errands and using water-based paints.
