While water levels have begun to recede, some larger rivers will not crest for another day or two. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday With water levels still elevated, flooding will remain a concern across northeast Minnesota with the potential for further rain chances starting early next week. Severe thunderstorms are possible Monday late afternoon through Monday night. All hazards including large hail, damaging wind, and a tornado are possible. The storms may produce brief locally heavy rain as well, however, they are expected to move quickly enough to limit the risk of widespread heavy rain. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather

access. Access to Gold Mine Camp affected.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 13.9 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to remain near flood stage
through Monday before slowly receding.

PM CDT WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by upstream dam release continues.
* WHERE...In Minnesota, southeastern St. Louis County.
* WHEN...Until 400 PM CDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of the Cloquet river downstream of Island Lake
including Hunter and Bowman lakes is occurring. Downstream homes
and secondary roads are impacted. Extensive downstream flooding
is possible along the Cloquet River.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1036 AM CDT Sunday, High flows from Island Lake Reservoir
continue causing flooding downstream. The Island Lake
Reservoir is NOT in danger of failing. High flows will
continue through Wednesday. There is potential for heavy
rainfall Monday night which may increase the duration of high
water in the warned area.
- Dangerous river conditions are expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Island Lake, Hunter Lake, Bowman Lake, Fond Du Lac Band
Brookston Area, and Burnett. Flooding of roads near the
Cloquet River is possible in Grand Lake, Saginaw, Twig and
Taft.
- Flood safety information can be found at

* WHERE...In Minnesota, southeastern St. Louis County.
* WHEN...Until 500 PM CDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and lakes is
occurring. Several structures are flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1031 AM CDT Sunday, emergency management reported heavy
rain in the warned area due to flooding is ongoing due to
heavy rainfall that occurred Tuesday evening. Flooding is
already occurring.
- Upstream river levels on the Cloquet River at Brimson crested
Thursday and continue receding while river levels at Alden
Lake have crested and have been receding since 1130 AM CDT
Saturday.
- Some locations that are experiencing flooding include...
Little Indian Lake, Alden Lake, Little Alden Lake, Island
Lake and Pequaywan Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Campers and hikers should avoid flooded trail crossings. If camping
at a site along or near the banks of rivers or streams, move away
from those locations and seek higher ground. Trails in hilly terrain
can quickly become unstable during or shortly after heavy rainfall.
