Flash flooding is possible, and a Flash Flood Watch is in effect. Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible this evening through tonight. Large hail to 1" in diameter and strong winds to 60 mph are the main threats. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday Additional moderate to heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding is possible Tuesday through early Wednesday morning. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect. Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are possible late Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. Strong winds to 60 mph and large hail to 1" in diameter are the main threats, and an isolated tornado is possible over northern Minnesota. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Strong to severe thunderstorms may affect the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness tonight. The storms may produce gusty winds, large hail, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, and heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms are expected to occur between 1 AM and 10 AM Tuesday. Now is the time to prepare in case thunderstorms threaten. Campers should take extra precautions in order to secure campsites and make a plan in case of severe weather. In case of lightning, sit on your personal floatation devices or sleeping pads and avoid putting your tent on exposed roots to minimize your risk to lightning.
