Flooding is also occurring along the South Shore, especially in northern Bayfield County. Water levels in smaller creeks and streams will recede this afternoon and evening while water levels will rise in mainstem rivers. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday Water levels in rivers and streams over northeast Minnesota will remain high with flooding concerns shifting from smaller creeks and streams to mainstem rivers over northeast Minnesota. Additional rain and thunderstorms are expected late-week into Saturday. Heavy rain and some additional flooding issues are expected. The highest rainfall amounts are expected from northwest Wisconsin into the Brainerd Lakes region. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 442 AM CDT Wednesday, Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen and rivers and streams remain high and some continue to rapidly increase. Law enforcement reports flooding along portions of Highway 61 along with debris on the road, especially between Beaver Bay and Lutsen. The Baptism and Beaver Rivers continue to rapidly increase.
