Primary hazard is damaging wind gusts to 70 mph, but large hail to 1" in diameter and a tornado can`t be ruled out. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for most of northeast Minnesota until 9 AM. Periods of moderate to heavy rain are expected today and tonight. Flash flooding is possible, and a Flash Flood Watch is in effect. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday Additional rain and thunderstorms are expected late-week into this weekend. Heavy rain and some flooding issues are possible. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Skywarn spotters are encouraged to report hail of any size and rainfall amounts to the National Weather Service. $$

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...In Minnesota, in north central Minnesota, Koochiching,
North Cass and Itasca Counties. In northeast Minnesota, central
and northern St. Louis County. This includes the Tribal Lands of
the Bois Forte Band, Lake Vermilion, Nett Lake and, Deer Creek
areas. Recreation spots such as Voyageurs National Park. This also
includes the Boundary Waters western area.
* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy rain
today, with localized areas receiving up to 1 to 3 inches of
rain. This will fall on top of already saturated soils and
rivers with normal to above normal streamflow. The heaviest
rain is expected early this morning and through the day
today.
