This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are expected today.
Primary hazard is damaging wind gusts to 70 mph, large hail to 2
inches in diameter and a few tornadoes. A Severe Thunderstorm
Watch is in effect for most of Minnesota until 8PM. Periods of
moderate to heavy rain are expected today and tonight. Flash
flooding is possible, and a Flash Flood Watch is in effect.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Additional rain and thunderstorms are expected late-week into
this weekend. Heavy rain and some flooding issues are possible.

Skywarn spotters are encouraged to report hail, wind damage, and
rainfall amounts to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Crow Wing County in east central Minnesota...
  Cass County in north central Minnesota...
  Itasca County in north central Minnesota...
  Southeastern Koochiching County in north central Minnesota...
  Northwestern St. Louis County in northeastern Minnesota...

* Until 1000 PM CDT Tuesday.

* At 401 PM CDT Tuesday, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5
  inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to
  1.5 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
  begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Walker, Breezy Point, Pequot Lakes, Crosslake, Pine River, Deer
  River, Emily, Marcell, Bigfork, Fifty Lakes, Remer, Wabedo, Nett
  Lake, Hackensack, Backus, Longville, Ash Lake, Effie, Bena and
  Federal Dam.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather
Service at 1-800-685-8612.
