Primary hazard is damaging wind gusts to 70 mph, but large hail to 1" in diameter and a tornado can`t be ruled out. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for most of northeast Minnesota until 9 AM. Periods of moderate to heavy rain are expected today and tonight. Flash flooding is possible, and a Flash Flood Watch is in effect. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday Additional rain and thunderstorms are expected late-week into this weekend. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...In Minnesota, in east central Minnesota, Aitkin and Crow
Wing Counties. In northeast Minnesota, Carlton and St. Louis
Counties.
* WHEN...Until 645 AM CDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 250 AM CDT Tuesday, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due
to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of
rain have fallen.
